Boneham and Turner welcome three Apprentices during NAW 2019
National Apprenticeship Week 2019 sees Nottinghamshire based precision component manufacturer Boneham and Turner Ltd create three new exciting apprenticeship opportunities to encourage young minds into engineering.
Working with both Skills Training UK and Learning Unlimited, and following a rigorous recruitment drive, Boneham and Turner have appointed Tia Spencer into their sales department, covering all aspects of business administration to gain her Business Administration Level II Apprenticeship. Joining The Boneham Group’s engineering team are Josh Truswell and Victoria Burton, who will both be completing a Performing Engineering and Operations Level II apprenticeship.
Stacy Denton-Beaumont, Sales Manager and the figurehead for administering the apprenticeship drive states, “This is a really exciting time for Boneham & Turner; we are fortunate enough to work with some great Training Providers who put forward some very high calibre young people for us to interview. The key attributes we are looking for are a desire to learn, self-develop and an interest in the products and industries that Boneham & Turner support; our 3 Apprentices have these in spades. A week in and Tia, Jacob and Victoria are fitting in really well and already proving to be an asset to our business."
Stacy added, "In each area that they are working; Sales, Quality and Shim manufacturing, they are doing fantastically well; demonstrating the value that Apprentices can bring to an organisation. I am incredibly proud of each of them and hope to see them grow and develop in the coming years at Boneham & Turner”.
Peter Boneham, Joint Managing Director of the Boneham Group went on to say; “it is part of our mission and core values, to continue to provide a learning platform for young people wanting to explore the fast-moving career of engineering and manufacturing. It is of national interest to encourage fledgling minds into our industry and put aside the stigmas of the past. We are also absolutely delighted to welcome our first female apprentice for many years.”
The company has moved forward with a number of employee development initiatives in the last 18 months, including a further 10 members of the team completing Business Improvement Techniques Level II.
