Bridging the gap between education and employment
Apprenticeships are one of the most effective and enduring ways to prepare students for successful careers. Combining practical, on-the-job training with classroom learning, apprenticeships provide valuable real-world experience, helping individuals gain skills that are in demand by employers. As industries continue to evolve and economies face challenges related to employment and skill shortages, apprenticeships have become more important than ever.
Here at Boneham & Turner we strongly believe in fostering the next generation of talent and developing their specific skills. It’s important to us to show students different pathways into engineering and manufacturing, other than University.
For over a century Boneham & Turner has provided opportunities to young people in the Ashfield area, investing in the future of the manufacturing, engineering, and increased skills in the local area. In the last six years we have worked closely with West Nottinghamshire College and employed several Apprentices in Quality, Grinding, CNC Machining and Product Development roles.
"We are proud to have supported and developed several extremely talented apprentices over the last few years. Our current cohort are outstanding and play an integral role in the success of our business.
The relationship we have with West Notts College ensures that our young engineers are given professional and practical support, not just technically, but also in the expected standards of behaviour and etiquette at work. " Stacy Denton-Beaumont Group General Manager
Our commitment to apprenticeships doesn’t stop there!
Moving into 2025 we will be looking to increase our apprenticeships with a focus on Toolmaking, Centreless Grinding and our first placement will be for Customer Service Administrator. Applications can be made here
