Position: Toolmaker/Manual Machinist

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Boneham team, operating and setting manual lathes, hand presses and power presses.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have at least 5 years' experience in setting operating manual lathes, milling and grinding machines and ideally be apprentice trained
• Be experienced in the setting and operating of power presses
• Be familiar with working with stainless steel, brass, aluminium and titanium; (thicknesses as low as 0.025mm (0.001") up to 6.35mm (1/4") thickness
• Work to tight tolerances such as our standard shim tolerances are +/-  0.010mm (+/-0.004")
• Manufacture to engineering drawings, with an ability to work to imperial and metric dimensions
• Be experienced in using verniers, micrometres
• Support the training of our Apprentices, to achieve a high level of skill
• Work to a production plan, whilst considering setting and planning efficiencies
• Have a keen eye for detail and take great pride in their work
• Demonstrate a can-do attitude
• Desire to continually learn and progress through the organisation
  
• Be open to adopting lean methods
• Always consider health and safety risks

Working hours are:

• Monday to Thursday 8am - 4.30pm
  Friday 8am - 1pm
