Boneham Opts for XYZ

Boneham and Turner Ltd have added an XYZ 710 VMC to their machining capacity at the groups UK manufacturing facility in Nottinghamshire.

Joint Managing Director, Peter Boneham explained that “we had a burning requirement to add a lean vertical machining centre, which could offer both traditional Macro programming, and a more simplistic conversational interface for ease of setup”. Peter recognizes that the milling cell isn’t always a high production area of the business, but an important element; “The XYZ 710 offered the capabilities we required at an investment level that befits the production levels of that area of our operation. XYZ delivered within a week and we will see the benefits to the organisation very quickly”.

Operating in the aerospace supply chain, Peter Boneham emphasised “the need for continuous improvement in delivering faster solutions whilst remaining competitive within the global market place”. Peter went on to say “Boneham is a global manufacturer of Drill Jig Bushes and other locating and alignment solutions. Whilst we offer the broadest range of standard items from stock, including ISO, DIN and ANSI, we specialise in manufacturing special bush requirements to high accuracy on a Fast-Track service for the aerospace industry”.

The Boneham Group also manufacture shims under the Shimpress brand which utilises the companies milling capacity, machining precision shims to customer drawing using traditional methods, to ensure the exact tolerances required by automotive, aerospace and commercial vehicle markets.
